In Memory of Sarah Frias
Sarah Frias, second from the front on the right.
We are saddened by the passing of our colleague, Sarah Frias. Sarah joined True Ground in August for a one-year term as an AmeriCorps VISTA, working to support our data analytics work. From day one, Sarah brought a keen eye, a quick wit, and a caring heart to True Ground. She was a fast learner who approached new projects with curiosity and enthusiasm, generously using her talents to support her coworkers and her community.
Sarah talked about her love of public transportation, housing and zoning policies in the region, and her enthusiasm for potential options to expand housing opportunity in Herndon. She received two degrees from NOVA and a degree in Commerce from UVA. She valued her family and was inspired by her parents’ public service.
Sarah was talented, bright, kind, and curious. We are honored and grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside Sarah and to have known her during her time at True Ground.
Gifts made in Sarah’s memory will support True Ground’s mission and serve as a meaningful tribute to her life, her generous spirit, and her commitment to creating stronger communities.
