APAH Announces Real Estate Team Promotions

Arlington, VA (February 6, 2017) –Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) announces staffing changes on the real estate development team.

Carmen Romero has stepped into the position of Vice President of Real Estate Development. Serving as the Director of Acquisitions, she has contributed greatly to the success of all APAH’s real estate projects over the last six years.  Carmen joined the APAH team in 2011 from Clark where she served as Director of Edgemoor Real Estate Services.  She is a former member of the Arlington County Industrial Development Authority and currently serves of the Board of the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization (CPRO).  “Carmen brings passion, strategic thinking, dedication, and thoughtful leadership to all that she does” said Nina Janopaul, APAH’s President and CEO.

Mike Chiappa and Laura London have been promoted to Associate Directors of Real Estate Development, both previously served as project managers across the APAH portfolio. Laura has been with APAH for over four years, having previously worked at Kettler and NASH (North America Sekisui House), and serves on the boards of the Views at Clarendon and the Lee Highway Alliance.  Mike came to APAH in 2013 from Berkeley Point Capital, where he underwrote multifamily properties across the eastern United States.

Carmen, Mike, and Laura uphold the high standard of professionalism for which APAH is known and will continue to advance the organization as we work towards our goal of adding at least 200 affordable units in Arlington every year” said Janopaul.
