35 for 35: What It Takes to Build a Beloved Community

APAH hosts its annual MLK Jr. Essay contest in January. In 2024, contest participants responded to prompts related to Dr. King’s interpretation of a beloved community, a vision in which all people can share in the wealth of the earth. At an award ceremony, all contest participants were recognized and each age-group winner was announced.

Dayana is a junior in high school and was the first place winner in her age group.
